Finding development tenders without a full media subscription

If you need tender discovery rather than news, jobs and analysis, a focused tool may serve you better. How MangoFetch covers the major development funders, with AI search and daily updates.

Development professionals often subscribe to a platform for its news, its jobs board and its analysis, and then use it to look for tenders because it is already open in a tab. That works, but it is worth asking what you would choose if tender discovery were the only thing you needed.

News, jobs and tenders are three different products

Sector journalism, a careers marketplace and procurement monitoring share an audience and almost nothing else. A platform built around the first two will treat tenders as a database to browse: a list, some filters, an export. That is fine for occasional checking and thin if you are bidding regularly, because the questions you actually ask are narrower and stranger than a list can answer.

What tender discovery needs that a list does not

You rarely want “all water tenders”. You want the ones you could plausibly win: the right size, a funder you have dealt with, a country you can staff, work you have done before under whatever name this particular buyer uses for it. Those are not filter checkboxes.

What MangoFetch adds on top of the feed

Aggregation is table stakes. The part that saves time is what happens once a notice is in front of you.

  • AI search. Describe the work in your own words, in any language, and MangoFetch finds tenders that match the meaning rather than the keywords. A firm offering solar mini-grids is shown notices titled “rural electrification” and “energy access consultancy” that a keyword search would never return.
  • AI summaries. Every tender opens with the scope, who is eligible, what it pays and when it closes, read out of the official notice so you do not have to open a PDF to find out whether it is worth your afternoon.
  • Bid intelligence. Contract awards show who won, for how much, and what every rival bid where the funder publishes it. That is the number you need when pricing your own proposal, and it is rarely anywhere convenient.

Coverage

MangoFetch aggregates opportunities from the major official funders — the World Bank, the UN agencies via UNGM, the Asian, African and Inter-American Development Banks, the EBRD, the AIIB and the European Union — into a single, searchable feed that updates daily.

You can search across all of them at once, filter by country, sector, source and language, and see where the money is concentrated on an interactive map.

When a broader subscription is still right

If you rely on development news, a jobs board or funding forecasts, those are real products and a focused tender tool does not replace them. The question is only whether you are paying a subscription price for a tender feature you would rather have done properly. Many teams run both, and use each for the thing it is actually good at.

Getting started

Browse the live tender feed, explore activity by funder and country on the Intelligence dashboard, or review recent contract awards. A free account adds AI search, saved tenders, saved searches and optional email alerts.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a full subscription platform to find development tenders?

Not if tender discovery is the only thing you need. Sector news, a jobs board and procurement monitoring are three different products that happen to share an audience, and a tool built for the first two usually treats tenders as a list to browse.

What does a focused tender tool give me instead?

Search that understands the work rather than matching keywords, summaries that let you judge a notice without opening the PDF, published contract awards so you can price against what rivals charged, and deadlines refreshed on every scrape.

Is MangoFetch free?
